WILLARD BROWN

Nicknamed β€œEse Hombre (That Man),” Willard Brown regularly hit above .300, helping the Kansas City Monarchs win six pennants between 1937 and 1946. Although he lost two years to Army service during World War II, he starred in the Puerto Rico Winter Leagues in the 1940s and 1950s where he captured two triple crowns and topped the .400 mark twice. After a brief stint with the St. Louis Browns, Brown played five seasons in the minor leagues, bashing 35 home runs in the Texas League in 1954.
